Halloween – For many the very mention of the holiday sends shivers down ones spine. For all October 31st is a day of the year that brings out many different feelings. For some, October 31st is a night to be feared. For others it is a night of merriment, jack-o’-lanterns, candy and costumes. For the Disney parks around the globe Mickey welcomes his guests with spooktacular entertainment and fun! In Florida, the Walt Disney World Resort is ready to welcome guests with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Here Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes. Even better, they can collect delicious candy as they trick-or-treat around the Magic Kingdom theme park. In addition to many favorite Disney attractions, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is filled with special entertainment, including: * Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade: including Disney Characters and the stars of the Haunted Mansion attraction. The parade begins with a spook-tacular ride by the Headless Horseman. * Happy HalloWishes: a spectacular fireworks show where the Disney Villains go trick-or-treating in the sky. * Many favorite Disney Characters and Disney Villians in special Halloween costumes. * Special lighting, music and theming effects that transforms special areas of the Magic Kingdom theme park into happy haunted hollows. The tone of the event is, well, Not-So-Scary, and is appropriate for children of all ages. This special ticketed event is held from 7 PM to 12AM on select nights from Sept. 4 to Nov. 1, 2009. Out on the West coast, in California’s Disneyland, spooky new fireworks and ghoulish screams at Space Mountain add to the fun when Halloween Time returns to Disneyland Resort Sept. 25-Nov. 1, 2009. Here in addition to standard park favorites such as the Tower of Terror and Fantasmic, Jack Skellington returns to his Holiday Home at the Haunted Mansion to provide a festive chill to the Mansion with unique decorations and fun! This year, in honor of the Mansions 40th anniversary, Jack has added some special spooky surprises into the design! Additionally, with the help of the Disney Villains, Jack serves as the Master of Scare-omonies at the new Halloween Screams-A Villainous Surprise in the Skies fireworks spectacular where haunting melodies fill the air and a Halloween pyrotechnics extravaganza explodes into the night. Such classic Disney villains as Maleficent, Ursula the Sea Witch and Oogie Boogie join in the spirit of the celebration, and even Zero, Jacks faithful ghost dog, will make an appearance. Spectators in Disneyland are encouraged to participate in a bone-chilling Halloween Scream-Along during the show. On select nights during the season the California Adventure park will open for a separate ticketed event – Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party. Yet perhaps the greatest new Disney surprise at this years Halloween Time event will be the Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. The scary new experience will begin as a typical Space Mountain adventure, but will suddenly launch voyagers into an uncharted and haunted section of the universe. Ghosts will appear out of the starry darkness and swirling galaxies of Space Mountain, reaching out as if to grab guests as they speed through space. The exhilarating drops and curves of the journey are punctuated by piercing screams, creepy sound effects and haunting music. The Halloween transformation occurs outside the mountain as well, as frightening images, audio and lights illuminate the Space Mountain exterior! For those who desire a spooky Disney adventure with a foreign twist Disney’s International parks will not disappoint. It has been reported that Hong Kong Disneyland is about to be invaded by Aliens at the parks Haunted Halloween event Sept 18 – Oct 31st. Additionally ghosts have been reported at the haunted Main Street hotel and also at Space Mountain. A demon filled jungle has also been discovered in Adventureland. In Tokyo, the Disney characters dressed in Halloween costumes and fun-loving ghosts, will put you in high spirits! This year again, the villains from the Disney films are plotting to take over the Halloween fun at the Tokyo Disney Resort Sept 10 – Nov 3. On the other side of the world in Paris scary shows, spooky encounters, ghostly entertainment and wicked wizardry evenings await you at the Disneyland Paris Resort Oct 3 – Nov 1st.
